Rules worth checking
NFHS volleyball rules do not allow two players on a team to wear the same number and limit numbers to two digits, and the libero's jersey must clearly contrast with the team's. Club and college play follow other rulebooks with their own details on number size and placement. Rules change between seasons, so read the current one before you approve a design.

- It has to contrast clearly with the jerseys the rest of the team wears, so that officials can tell the libero apart at a glance. A reversed version of the team's colors is a common choice. Check your league's wording, because the detail varies.
- Where do the numbers go?
- On the front and the back of the jersey. Rulebooks set minimum sizes and ask for a number that contrasts with the jersey color, so confirm the current requirements with your league.
