What a wrestling uniform usually includes

- A one-piece, close-fitting uniform in the team's colors.
- Two-piece uniform
- A fitted shirt and shorts, allowed by many rulebooks as an alternative to the singlet.
- Warm-ups
- A jacket and pants for the bench and the walk to the mat.

Rules worth checking
Many rulebooks, including high school rules in the United States, allow either a one-piece singlet or a two-piece uniform of a fitted shirt and shorts, and they describe how each must fit. Rules also cover logos and the colors wrestlers wear to be told apart. Read the current rulebook for your level before you choose between the two.

- Where the rules allow both, it is the team's choice. Some programs offer wrestlers the option, because the two-piece is more comfortable for some athletes. Check that your level permits it first.
- How are wrestling uniforms sized?
- By body measurements, and they are meant to fit closely. Use the size chart for the exact garment; a wrestler's everyday clothing size is not a reliable guide.
