Lacrosse is really two games with two uniforms. Boys' and men's teams wear jerseys cut to go over pads; girls' and women's teams play without them, in a jersey with a kilt or shorts.

The uniform
What a lacrosse uniform usually includes
The pieces a team normally orders together. Tell us which ones you need; a set does not have to include all of them.
- Jersey
- Numbered on the front and back. Boys' and men's jerseys are cut to fit over shoulder pads.
- Shorts or kilt
- Shorts for boys' and men's teams; a kilt, skirt or shorts for girls' and women's.
- Reversible practice top
- A two-color top, so a squad can split into teams without changing.
- Shooting shirt
- A warm-up top worn before the game.

Boys' and girls' lacrosse are played under separate rulebooks with different uniform requirements, from the size and placement of numbers to what the whole team must wear alike. National and school associations publish the rules for their levels and revise them regularly. Check the current rulebook for the game your team plays before you approve a design.

- Are boys' and girls' uniforms the same?
- No. The games have different rules and different equipment, so the jerseys are cut differently and the rulebooks ask for different things. Tell our team which game you play.
- What is a reversible used for?
- Practice. One top in two colors lets a coach split the squad for a scrimmage, and some tournament teams carry one as a second jersey.
